Wondering what to expect after you hire me to photograph The Big Day?

The Big Question: ”How much is this all going to cost?”

The cost for the wedding is $1,500.00 (plus applicable sales tax).

A $500 non-refundable deposit is collected when my services are reserved, which places you on my calendar. The balance is due 7 working days before the Wedding.

For this, you receive my services on site up to 5 hours, a photo album with approximately 125-150 4x6 images (sometimes more) delivered within 10 days of the Wedding. You will also get CD with the images from the album for your safe keeping.

I will place all images in a gallery here on my website and provide you with a direct link. There is no extra charge for this. The benefit is allowing friends and relatives to also view the Wedding photos and purchase any photo they like directly from the gallery. This is helpful for people unable to attend, but who would still like to see the photos. To see how this works click on the “click here” copy at the top of this page (and all pages herein) to access the Gallery.  Once there click the gallery tab on the left.   For a sampling, scroll down and click the Gallery titled Jess and Todd and you’ll see a wedding I shot in Austin.  And yes, I do travel, having done Weddings for clients in Arizona, California, Colorado, and around Texas.  If a “location” Wedding is in your future, let me know.

If for some reason the Wedding extends beyond 5 hours, there would be an additional $100 per hour charge for that hour or any part of it. That extra charge would be due when the album is delivered. (NOTE: I've not gone into "overtime" yet!)

After you‘ve had some time to enjoy your photos let me know about any enlargements you would like, and I will give you a range of sizes, prices, and papers from matte to metallic, and canvas.

Related services:

Location bridal portraits are available for an additional fee of $100.  This includes 2-4x6 prints for newspaper or invitation use.

I will also cover engagement parties, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners if you like, on an hourly fee basis.  Mention it when you call or write and I’ll give you an idea of the cost.   (Don’t worry…it’s pretty easy on the pocketbook!)

Here’s how it works:

I shoot weddings in a photojournalism style.  This allows me to capture images of people and scenes that aren’t posed or “set-up”.

This approach provides a true representation of the emotions of the day, when people have let their guards down and are enjoying the event. I capture most photos with available light, which helps achieve that goal, but I will, of course, use flash when it is called for due to lighting conditions. I’ll also produce some photos in black and white, typically deciding which ones to convert while I am reviewing and editing images. If you do not want any black and white renderings, just let me know before your event.

I arrive early, before the Wedding, and go about taking photos of the Bride and the Groom (as well as the attendants for both) while they prepare for the Wedding. My tendency is to seek out and capture candid shots, but I will photograph according to the comfort level of each individual client. This is also be a good time for some informal group shots with friends and families.

During the actual Wedding ceremony:

My goal is to become the "phantom photographer", becoming as invisible as possible so that all in attendance are unaware of my presence.

I won’t order you around (I may make a soft suggestion or two) because this is Your Special Day. The last thing you need to be worrying about is the photographer.

On to the reception.  Again, mostly candid photos of people enjoying themselves, but also a good time (now that the pressure is off) to gather family and friends for group shots. I stay on-site and on-the-job until the Bride and Groom decide it’s time for their departure.

Now that you’ve absorbed all this…give me a call and let’s talk or drop me an email.

I look forward to working with you!
Rich
